Moderation
QTube uses soft review for newly processed videos, optional community review when reviewers disagree, and platform review for protected cases. SAIKO Community Moderators and Platform Moderators are not the same role.
Initial moderation
After processing succeeds, a video awaits soft review before publication. Authorized reviewers can publish, hide, defer, or reinstate videos from the Review videos queue.
- Publish — makes the video public
- Hide — removes the video from public surfaces without hard-deleting it
- Defer — leaves the video in review without a final public decision
- Reinstate — returns a hidden video to published status when allowed
Community moderation
When community moderation votes are enabled and different reviewers take opposing publish/hide actions, the video can enter community review. Eligible SAIKO Holders then vote to publish or hide.
Community moderation votes are currently enabled. The current community review voting duration is 72 hours.
Community review pass rules use the same minimum vote count and quorum configuration that applies to token votes at the time the review opens. Current token-vote floors:
- Minimum winning votes: 1
- Quorum: enabled at 2 ballots
SAIKO Community Moderators
SAIKO Community Moderator is a dynamic on-chain status based on a configurable SAIKO requirement. It is not a Platform Moderator appointment and does not grant staff or admin access. When Community Moderators are enabled, an active member with a linked wallet whose cached SAIKO balance meets the current requirement can access soft video review and can hide, restore, lock, or unlock discussions in eligible token communities. Meeting the ordinary SAIKO holder minimum does not grant those moderation tools.
Current requirement: 100,000,000 SAIKO
SAIKO Community Moderators are currently enabled.
Platform Moderators are appointed by QTube and are separate from SAIKO Community Moderator status. See Governance.
24-hour protection
After a video’s first publication, SAIKO Community Moderators may directly hide it only within 24 hours. After that window, they must request platform review instead of hiding the video directly.
Review requests
When a SAIKO Community Moderator cannot directly hide a protected video, they can request platform review so a Platform Moderator or other platform reviewer can take the appropriate soft-review action.
QTube does not provide a creator appeal workflow. Escalation is a moderation review path, not a public appeals system.
