Governance
QTube separates platform account roles from token and on-chain statuses. They can overlap on one account, but they are not the same thing.
Roles and statuses
Platform roles describe your account on QTube. Token and on-chain statuses come from linked wallets and verified holdings. Holding tokens or meeting a SAIKO threshold does not appoint you as platform staff.
Platform roles
- Member
- A registered user. Members can use the normal platform features available for their account when those features are open.
- Platform Moderator
- A moderation role appointed by QTube. Platform Moderators help with platform moderation, including discussion moderation where those tools exist. This is not the same as SAIKO Community Moderator status, which is based on a configurable SAIKO balance. The Platform Moderator role does not by itself grant posting, replies, or downvotes in Community Posts.
Token and on-chain statuses
- Token Holder
- A member whose connected wallet holds one or more verified listed community tokens. You can hold several at once. Holding a community token lets you post and reply in that community's Discuss surface. It does not make you a moderator or platform staff.
- SAIKO Holder
- A member with a linked wallet whose cached SAIKO balance meets the current SAIKO holder requirement (1 SAIKO) when holder features are enabled. SAIKO Holders may take part in governance voting when those votes are enabled, and may post and reply in every eligible token community without holding that community's token. Meeting the SAIKO holder minimum does not make you a moderator.
- SAIKO Community Moderator
- A dynamic, SAIKO-based community moderation status — not a Platform Moderator appointment and not staff or admin access. When Community Moderators are enabled, members with a linked wallet that meets the current configurable SAIKO requirement can review community content such as soft video review, and can post, reply, and moderate discussions in eligible token communities.
Current SAIKO Community Moderator requirement: 100,000,000 SAIKO
SAIKO Community Moderators are currently enabled.
A member can simultaneously be a holder of several community tokens, a SAIKO Holder, and a SAIKO Community Moderator. These statuses do not turn the account into a Platform Moderator or platform staff.
Who can vote
Governance votes require an authenticated account, a linked wallet, and SAIKO Holder status when holder features and the relevant vote flag are enabled. Token Holder affiliation alone does not grant votes.
- SAIKO holder minimum: 1 SAIKO
- Token votes: enabled
- Community moderation votes: enabled
Each eligible wallet may cast one ballot per open vote. On a token proposal you can change YES or NO while voting is still open.
On Community Votes, eligible holders may use Vote YES on all or Vote NO on all as a convenience. That still casts an ordinary independent vote on each pending proposal the holder is eligible for and has not already voted on. Already-cast ballots are not changed, and the normal eligibility rules still apply. The count is every eligible unvoted proposal, not only the proposals visible on the current page or filter. It is not a separate governance mechanism.
Who can moderate
Soft video review is available to SAIKO Community Moderators who meet the current requirement of 100,000,000 SAIKO. Platform Moderators are appointed separately by QTube and are not the same status.
Soft review actions include publish, hide, defer, and reinstate, subject to the 24-hour direct-hide protection described in Moderation. After that window, SAIKO Community Moderators escalate protected hide decisions for platform review instead of hiding the video directly.
Capability summary
Token Holder status is omitted from most rows below except Community Posts, where holding that community’s token is one participation path. The table covers the main member-facing capabilities.
